Daniel found this poem in Grade 9 and was saving it for the day of his high school graduation. We are placing it here for his friends who are graduating in June, 2002.
Graduation Day
Today is the greatest day of our young lives.
I look back at what I've known for so long,
today is the day we never leave behind.
Today we say our last goodbyes
memories in the back of my mind
held close by until the day that I die.
Good luck my friends, make it to the end.
I wish you all the best until we meet again.
I can't believe it, seems like yesterday,
just kids and now it's time to grow up.
Aujourd'hui , on recoit nos diplômes
Aujourd'hui , c'est la plus grande journée de notre jeune vie.
Je pense à tout ce qui m'était familier depuis si longtemps.
Aujourd'hui nous ne quittera jamais.
On se dit au revoir pour la dernière fois,
Mais tous les souvenirs que j'ai en mémoire,
Je les garderai jusqu'à mon dernier jour.
Bonne chance mes amis, allez jusqu'au bout.
Je vous souhaite de ce qu'il y a de mieux
tout en espérant qu'on se reverraun jour.
C'est incroyable... Hier encore nous étions que des enfants.
Et voilà que déjà que nous devons devenir grands.

A poem describing Daniel’s Faith
oh how could I be what Ive been
all to human thats what
but now it's hard to beileive there is someone
someone who will be there for me
someone that has always been there
he will forgive me when I fail
he will rejoice with me
where there is a victory
unconditional love thats his game
he will give me peace deep within
his name is Jesus-Christ, the son of God
he shed his blod for scum like me
oh how I am not worthy
the lamb of god was sacrificed for me
I put him on the cross
oh lord I praise thee
you have saved me
from this world, from myself
and from the horrifying abyss of hell.
I give you my life
